- SAP ERP HCM Time Management allows you to display and record working times flexibly.
- Information on working times is used to calculate gross wages in Payroll.
- Several options are available for recording working times, including Time Manager’s Workplace, CATS (cross application time sheet), external time recording systems, and Employee Self-Service (ESS) applications.
If payroll is the brains then in my opinion time is the heart of the SAP HCM system. Without the hours payroll wouldn’t know what to calculate and how much to pay to the employees. Before running payroll, the payroll administrator will first run time evaluation. What time evaluation does is it calculates all the working hours, overtime hours, and absences for each employee and stores it in the cluster. Payroll picks up these hours and does the calculation by multiplying the hours with the hourly rate or salary stored in basic pay infotype (0008).
